Three people died this Saturday (25) in the fire of a residential building on the northern outskirts of Paris and eight were injured, including a child "in an absolute emergency", local authorities said.
According to a police source, the fire broke out at around 2am local time on the ground floor of the building, next to the City Hall of the city of Stains (39 thousand inhabitants), around 15 kilometers from the French capital.
By mid-morning, the fire had already been extinguished…
The city council indicated that a major extinguishing operation was carried out in which 24 vehicles and 88 firefighters participated.
"One firefighter suffered minor burns during the operation," the source added.
The remaining residents of the building, who were evacuated, were housed in a gym.
The Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation, which will be conducted by the department's Judicial Police, to determine the causes of the fire.
